beauty secret #1

We all know too well that being a girl is hard work! It's the same routine day in, day out - cleansers, exfoliators, toners & moisturizers! eek - and if you have ever looked at the long list of ingredients at the back of the bottles, you will know that the majority of them are filled with a whole range of icky chemicals that most of us wouldn't even know how to pronounce! The thought of using toxic substances on my skin is really just sickening, so that is why I want to let you all in on my little secret to smooth, healthy looking skin, naturally!

My beauty routine always starts with hot water and a face towel. I'm sure you all know the trick too well, however for those who don't, all you got to do is soak a small face towel in hot water and rinse well! Apply the towel to your face, pat down and allow your skin to soak in all the moisture.

Next up I use a natural organic "balancing cleanser" by Miessence. I particularly like this product as it is very light and non foaming (i.e. no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate - woo hoo!).

My next step may sound a little gross, but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do - I create a nice little paste consisting of avocado, honey, egg white, a teeny bit of olive oil and depending on whether I want to exfoliate or not, I will add a touch of sugar. I'll rub this into my skin and leave on for as long as possible (about 5 minutes usually) and rinse off with warm water and my trusty face towel.

In lieu of a moisturizer, I absolutely swear by COCONUT OIL! It is amazing, I use it on my face, my lips, as a hair treatment and as a whole body moisturizer! Okay I admit I'm a little obby, but its so light and non-greasy and just makes your skin look and feel amazing. Unless you have really oily skin, I recommend you try it!

Last but not least, at the sight of a pimple It's always tea tree oil for me! It's strong smelling, so you only want to use a dab, but it works wonders!

And there you have it! My secret is now exposed! It works for me guys, I can't promise it will work for all skin types but It's worth a shot if you're interested. :) If you give it a go I would love to hear how it worked for you!

Love Always,
Martha
